Swindon Town have secured the signings of defender Grant Hall and teenage midfielder Dylan Mitchell.

Hall, 32, returns to the Robins after previously enjoying a loan spell from Tottenham Hotspur during the 2013-14 season. His recent career includes stints at Rotherham United and Middlesbrough, accumulating nearly 200 appearances for QPR over five seasons.

“I’m pleased to have finalized this move. After leaving Rotherham, I was eager to sort out my next step swiftly to ensure I could join pre-season and lay the groundwork for the upcoming season,” Hall commented.

His arrival marks Swindon’s eighth signing of the transfer window, complementing the addition of Mitchell, who recently departed Aston Villa.

Mitchell, aged 18, did not feature for Villa’s first team but impressed with two assists in 18 appearances for their under-18 squad last season. Additionally, he gained valuable experience on loan at non-league side Alvechurch.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Dylan to Swindon Town amidst strong interest from other clubs in the league,” stated head of football Jamie Russell on the club’s website. “He has benefited from excellent training at Aston Villa and has already demonstrated his capabilities in senior football, notably during his loan spell at Alvechurch.”

Russell continued, “Following a successful trial period with us, we see great potential in him both as a player and as an individual that we can nurture and develop.”

Swindon also confirmed the departure of Williams Kokolo, who has left the club by mutual consent after making 28 appearances since joining in November 2023.

“We were looking forward to working with Williams this season, but unfortunately, due to personal reasons, he leaves the club with our best wishes as he returns to France to be with his family,” Russell explained.
