Millwall, a Championship team, has acquired Macaulay Langstaff from Notts County for an undisclosed fee. The 27-year-old forward has been in formidable form, netting 71 goals in 96 games for the Magpies, including an impressive 42 goals in 47 matches during their successful National League promotion campaign in 2022-23.

Langstaff has consistently topped the division’s scoring charts over the past three seasons with Notts County and previously with Gateshead. His standout performance came last season in League Two, where he clinched the golden boot with 28 goals in his debut English Football League season.

Signing a “long-term” contract with Millwall, Langstaff expressed his determination to excel, citing the club’s facilities as a motivating factor. He gained renown as the ‘non-league Haaland’ for his record-breaking goal tally in the National League, aiding Notts County in their return to the EFL via the play-offs.

Beginning his career at Gateshead and returning in 2020 after a stint at York, Langstaff’s prolific scoring earned him a move to Meadow Lane. Despite having three years left on his contract with Notts County, he was enticed by Millwall’s vision and facilities, marking a significant career progression for the ambitious striker.
