Leeds sign Bournemouth midfielder Rothwell on loan
Leeds United have secured Bournemouth midfielder Joe Rothwell on a season-long loan deal.
Rothwell, 29, concluded last season on loan at Southampton in the Championship, where he experienced success with the Saints defeating Leeds in the play-off final. His career began at Manchester United, followed by stints at Oxford United and Blackburn Rovers.
“It’s incredible; as soon as I heard about the interest, I was eager to make it happen,” Rothwell expressed to the club. “Leeds United is a massive football club that needs no introduction. The team had some tough breaks last season, but our singular goal is to return to the Premier League.”
Rothwell’s addition bolsters Leeds United’s midfield options ahead of the upcoming campaign.
