Gomez Makes Sociedad Move
Sergio Gomez, the 23-year-old defender from Manchester City, has completed a transfer to Real Sociedad in La Liga for a reported 10 million euros (£8.4 million). Gomez, who joined City in 2022 for £11 million, struggled to secure regular playing time, featuring in just 18 Premier League matches during his tenure.
As part of the transfer agreement, City retains a 30% sell-on clause, marking Gomez’s departure from the club two years into his original four-year contract. The left-back expressed his recognition that it was time to move on, reflecting on his experience with City as an honor and highlighting the joy of winning several major trophies, including the Treble.
“I am eager for this new chapter but I extend my best wishes for continued success to Pep Guardiola and all my former teammates,” Gomez remarked.
