Girona sign Ruiz, Martinez to join Braga
Girona have completed the signing of forward Abel Ruiz from Braga in a deal worth around €9million (£7.6m) plus Gabri Martinez.
Ruiz, 24, has signed a five-year deal that will see him stay with the La Liga club until at least 2029.
The Spaniard who came through Barcelona’s youth academy, joined Braga in January 2020, initially on loan before the move was made permanent that summer.
He scored 38 goals and provided 19 assists in 189 for the Portuguese club, while also earning two caps for Spain. He made just one appearance for Barcelona.
Martinez, 21, spent the 2023-24 season on loan at Spanish second-division side CD Mirandes and scored nine goals and provided five assists in 41 games. The forward has signed a five-year deal with Braga.
Girona are looking to build on their impressive 2023-24 season, where they finished third and qualified for the Champions League.
